GOOD OMENS: Reece Shearsmith Joins David Tennant In Star Studded Cast

Reece Shearsmith is the latest big name to join the cast of Good Omens, the upcoming adaptation of the comic novel of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.  David Tennant and Michael Sheen will star in the series that sees a fast living demon called Crowley and a fussy angel called Aziraphale trying to avert the Apocalypse.

Reece is taking on the role of William Shakespeare for the show and has been filming scenes at the Globe in London today.

Neil Gaiman, who scripted the series posted an update on Twitter which reads "Delighted to welcome @ReeceShearsmith to the Good Omens family as an Elizabethan playwright whose name escapes me. #alrightItsShakespeare" along with a photo of Reece in costume.

And if you're a fan of the book and don't recall Shakespeare popping up then Neil explains:
"There are things about Crowley and Aziraphale’s doings over the last 6000 years that were not revealed in the book. This is one such thing."

Filming has been taking place all week at various locations across London, with David Tennant and Michael Sheen also filming scenes in Penge and Crystal Palace.

The six-part series is a commission for BBC Two and Amazon Prime and is currently shooting in the UK, directed by Douglas Mackinnon. The series is being co-produced by the comedy team at BBC Studios, Narrativia and the Blank Corporation in association with BBC Worldwide, who are also handling international distribution. It will launch worldwide on Amazon in early 2019 with a later broadcast on BBC Two.
