RICHARD II: Single Tickets On Sale To BAM Members From Today



Single tickets for performances of William Shakespeare’s Richard II starring David Tennant at the Brooklyn Academy of Music go on sale to BAM Members today along with all other events from the 2016 Winter/Spring season. Until now, tickets could only be obtained as part of a season subscription for a minimum of 4 events from the programme. Richard II will be staged next spring when the Royal Shakespeare Company's tetralogy King and Country: Shakespeare’s Great Cycle of Kings transfers to the USA following a winter run at the Barbican Theatre in London.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's productions of four history plays - Richard II, Henry IV Parts 1 & 2 and Henry V - will be performed in New York between March 24th - May 1st 2016. Marking the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, BAM, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and The Ohio State University present King and Country: Shakespeare’s Great Cycle of Kings, comprising the four plays Richard II; Henry IV, Part I; Henry IV, Part II; Henry V. David Tennant returns in the title role of Richard II, Antony Sher and Jasper Britton play Falstaff and Henry IV respectively in the Henry IV plays, and Alex Hassell continues the journey of young Prince Hal, who reaches maturity as Henry V in the final play of the tetralogy. The plays are directed by the RSC's Artistic Director Gregory Doran.

David Tennant will be performing the play ten times between Thursday 24th March and Friday 29th April 2016. The play can be watched as a standalone performance or as part of the cycle of four plays. His performance dates are:

All performances begin at 7.30pm with the exception of 17th April which begins at 3pm.

Tickets for single plays in the season will be available to the general public from 7th December.
