Listen To The Great Scott: The Bride Of Lammermoor With David Tennant Today



David Tennant makes a welcome return to radio drama this afternoon as part of the cast of The Great Scott, a new trio of dramatisations of the works of Sir Walter Scott.

The three new tales will be broadcast as part of the Classic Serial strand on BBC Radio Four. As in the previous three episodes broadcast last year, David narrates as the author himself, Walter Scott. The first episode is The Bride Of Lammermoor and can be heard at 3pm BST on Sunday 29th June.

The novel is set in the Lammermuir Hills of south-east Scotland at the beginning of the 18th Century and tells of a tragic love affair between young Lucy Ashton and her family's enemy Edgar Ravenswood.
The Ashtons and Ravenswoods have been enemies for centuries - but will a proposed union between the warring families finally bring peace?


The novel is adapted by Mike Harris and features music composed and performed by Ross Hughes and Esben Tjalve with Oliver Langford on viola and violin.

The Bride Of Lammermoor is produced and directed by Clive Brill of Brill Productions for BBC Radio 4
