The first stage of voting in the 18th TV Choice Magazine
Awards ends at midnight tonight (Friday 20th June). David Tennant is nominated once again as Best
Actor, this time for his performance in The
Escape Artist. The three part legal thriller is also nominated for Best New
Drama and David’s co-star Ashley Jensen is named in the Best Actress list.
Spoof documentary W1A, starring Hugh Bonneville and
Jessica Hynes, which David narrated, is up for Best Comedy.
The TV Choice awards are genuinely the viewers’ awards,
decided by audiences themselves via a two-stage online and postal vote which
decides the shortlist and then the eventual category winners. The first poll
closes at midnight on June 20th. The shortlist will be announced in TV Choice
magazine in the 2nd July issue, after which voting will reopen.
The TV Choice Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Monday 8th September 2014.
