Broadchurch has scooped another three award wins, this time at the 40th Broadcasting Press Guild Awards which took place at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane this afternoon.
The ITV crime drama was named Best Drama Series while star Olivia Colman was awarded Best Actress. Series creator Chris Chibnall won the BPG Writer award. David Tennant was nominated as Best Actor for his performance as DI Alec Hardy but lost out to Chiwetel Ejiofor who won for BBC Two's Dancing On The Edge.
Other wins today included Jamie Dornan (Best Breakthrough for The Fall), Strictly Come Dancing (Best Entertainment programme) and The Wipers Times (Best Single Drama)

The Broadcasting Press Guild Television and Radio Awards
recognise outstanding programmes and performances seen or heard in the
preceding year. All but three of the 14 Awards are voted for by the membership of journalists writing about TV and Radio.
The rest are decided by specialist panels. This year's awards were sponsored by the Discovery Channel.
