So far the very generous public have helped Sport Relief to raise £53,370743 to support projects that improve the lives of people in need both in the UK and around the world.
The fundraising weekend started on Friday evening with the marathon TV show in which stars of sport, music and entertainment came together for a night of entertainment and some serious fundraising. Music performances from Coldplay and Little Mix, celebrity challenges and specially filmed mini episodes of Only Fools And Horses and W1A were interspersed with moving appeal videos featuring David Tennant, Davina McCall and Martin Shaw. The appeal night ended with a fantastic appeal total of over £51 million. Then, over the weekend the general public - and a number of celebrities - got stuck into their own sporting challenges across the country.
