David Tennant's Fears For DI Alec Hardy

David Tennant has said that he fears that his character may be killed off in the new series of Broadchurch.

Chris Chibnall is currently writing the second series of the award winning ITV drama, and no cast has been officially announced. David, talking on BBC Radio 4 and reported by the Mirror said,

“We don’t know where the characters are going. We don’t know the story he is telling. Some people say they know they are in it. I am not sure they do, though. I think some might get a shock."

Of the possible fate of Alec Hardy he says, "I was dying of a heart attack, so I don’t know how able Alec Hardy will be to do any more crimefighting, so we will have to see.”

David has just returned to the stage of the Barbican Theatre in London after the Christmas break where he will continue to perform in Richard II until January 25th. Following this he will be travelling to Canada to film Gracepoint, the US adaptation of Broadchurch, in which he will be playing an American version of Alec Hardy called Emmett Carver.
