Broadchurch Comes To BBC America In August

Broadchurch, starring David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Arthur Darvill begins on BBC America on Dramaville on Wednesday 7th August at 10/9c

The powerful and emotional eight part series follows the impact on a small seaside community of the murder of a schoolboy. The drama, created by Doctor Who and Torchwood writer Chris Chibnall, had the UK gripped this spring as viewers tried to work out the killer of eleven year old Danny Latimer.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman star as detectives DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller who lead the investigation when Danny's body is found on the beach below the cliffs. Ellie, a loving and trusting family woman who was brought up in Broadchurch returns from holiday expecting a promotion to find that the job has gone to an outsider, Hardy, who was moved to the town following the failure of a high-profile investigation elsewhere. Hardy is the antithesis of Ellie, he's rude, unemotional and unyielding and forces her to scrutinise her community in a way that she never has before. Meanwhile, the Latimer family: Mark (Andrew Buchan) and Beth (Jodie Whittaker) and daughter Chloe (Charlotte Beaumont) are torn apart by their grief - but can even they evade Hardy's suspicion?

Broadchurch also stars Arthur Darvill, David Bradley and Pauline Quirke.
